Spring break's coming up soon, and I'm pretty sure no one wants to be locked up in the house during this time -- again. Well look no further because today I'll be sharing with you four ways you can travel during spring break safely.
Taking a road trip

Not only have road trips been seen as the safest way to travel during the Covid - 19 pandemic, but they're fun too!
When taking a road trip your only limit is the amount of money you have for gas and food, everything else is an add-on.
Now I'm not saying that stuff such as where you're going to sleep and shower aren't important too, but you can do those things from your car. On Amazon you can find things such as portable shower bags and privacy tents, so you can just find somewhere to pitch up your tent and well, shower. Butttt.... I would suggest that you only do this when traveling with someone else so they can keep watch while you shower, and when it comes to sleeping, well your vehicle should be just fine. Amazon also carries car curtains, so you can have your privacy while you sleep.
However if you aren't really fond with that idea (I know my mom isn't), then you can just rent a motel. I wouldn't suggest renting a hotel unless you're planning to stay in that area for a good number of days, but if you're only looking for a place to sleep at night after a long day of driving then I recommend booking a motel as that's specifically what they're designed for. Also they're cheaper as they run between $45 - $100 a night while hotels are usually $180+ a night.
Buttt......
If you don't want to constantly have to worry about what motels are nearby or you just don't want to stay in a motel, but don't want to pay the price for a hotel either, then I suggest you rent an RV or trailer! You can find many rentals on google and they are always equipped with a bathroom and a kitchen, so you don't have to worry about making multiple pit stops in order to grab a bite to eat or even relieve yourself from that bite to eat.
With all these options road trips are a great way to explore the beauty of nature and really learn the history about your different stops. Which is awesome! As for the past 10 months the most nature we've seen is on Animal Planet.
Which then brings me to my next point.
2. Visiting state and national parks!
Visiting state and national parks are a great away to get out and explore nature! It's also a great workout.
During Covid I have visited a state park more specifically 'Starved Rock State Park' which is absolutely beautiful. I know it may sound boring to all the thrill seekers (like myself) who would rather be at a water park or Six Flags than walking around a park, but it's actually really fun!
If you just slip a speaker in your book bag and pack lots of water (trust me you'll need it) then you'll have a great time, I guarantee it!
This trip will be awesome for spring break as it won't be too hot or too cold for a lovely nature walk with friends and family.
When visiting a state/national park you're not only just looking at nature, but it's also a great way to connect with family as you're too busy trying not to step in [read in Peppa Pig voice] muddy puddles, so you really won't have time to look down at your phone unless you're taking pictures.
Also a lot of state/national parks have cabins, lodges, and hotels, so if you wanted to stay at the park for a couple of days you can! Staying at a state/national park is a great camping and bonding experience for friends and family.
Which brings me to my next point.
3. Camping Trip
In my opinion camping has to be the safest way to travel during the pandemic as you're socially distanced considering you'll be sleeping in either a tent, RV/Trailer, or a cabin, and unlike a hotel you won't have to walk down lobbies and narrow hallways in order to get into your room, and when you go camping people tend to bring a cooler and there's almost always a grill at the campsite for you to use so you don't even have to stop at a gas station or restaurant in order to get food because you can just make it on your own.
Also going camping gives you that at home feeling as you'll pretty much have another house to yourself whether that be a tent, RV/trailer, or a cabin. It gives you a different form of privacy that normal vacations such as cruises, and resorts won't give you; as you'll pretty much be just surrounded by your camping group, and not others also on vacation.
Which leads into my last point
4. Rent out a vacation home
Heading up to your vacation home or renting out someone else's vacation home, whether that be a beach house, or a mountain lodge -- is a perfect way to spend your spring break, as they have all the benefits I've mentioned above.
When staying at the vacation home the only limit to your experience is the amount of money you have for food, and the amount of days you can afford to stay there (if you're renting out a home), just like the road trip. You get the family bonding time and have an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery, just like if you visited a state/national park. You also gain more privacy then a usual vacation as you'll pretty much be surrounded by your group, just like if you went on a camping trip.
And even better some vacation homes come with amenities such as jet skis at the lake house, or climbing gear at the mountain lodge, you just have to find what you're looking for. You can find the best vacation homes for you on AirBnB and VRBO as they come with filters that you can put in place so you can find a temporary home that meets your very laid back or strict needs.
So this will put you in the best location to enjoy a relaxing, adrenaline rushing, or somewhere in the middle vacation, perfect during a time where we either need a break or a bit of excitement in our lives.
Going with one of these options is a great idea if you're looking for safe, family friendly fun during Covid, so you won't be trapped in the house again during this spring break.
