5 Black Owned Travel Companies You Should Consider When On Your Next Trip

Yearly, African Americans spend about an estimated $63 billion on travel and leisure, but every single black owned business in the country generates only $150 billion yearly, so in order to up those revenue numbers and in celebration of Juneteenth we decided to give you a list of five black owned travel businesses, from travel blogs to airports, that you should consider on your next trip.

Black Travel Lounge is a travel blog, company and community founded in 2011 by Evita Robinson. The company "is committed to encouraging black travel and demanding inclusivity in the travel industry." They allow black travelers to stay on top of travel news, become inspired and even share their own travel experiences.
2. Travel Noire

Travel Noire was founded in 2013 by Zim Flores and is now owned by Blavity, a media company based in Los Angeles California created by and for black millennials.
Travel Noire is a travel blog offering news, and blogs inspiring their target market of black millennials to take life changing trips and giving them ideas on what to do during their next trip.
3. AirFordable

Airfordable was founded in 2014 by Ama Marfo and is located in Chicago, Illinois.
This business has been mentioned on Forbes, TechCrunch, Yahoo Finance and Conde Nast Traveler for it's convenient payment solution towards air travel.
The first thing you'll do is upload a screenshot of your flight details directly from the site you're booking from, then you'll pay only a fraction of the normal cost and pay the remaining balance in installments and then you will receive your e-ticket after making your last payment.
4. Western Air

Western Air is the largest privately owned airline in the Bahamas and was founded in 2001 by Rex J. and Shandrice Rolle. The company now has their daughter 'Rexy' Rolle as the VP of Operations at only 29 years old.
Western Air has both public flights and private charter flights that stop at destinations such as Congo Town, Nassau, Exuma, San Andros, Marsh Harbour, Cat Island, Bimini and Grand Bahama.

Akwaaba Mansion is a bed and breakfast that six different locations such as the original location in Brooklyn, NY, New Orleans, LA, Philadelphia and The Poconos, PA and Cape May, NJ with the vision of having a B&B in different locations for every season.
Akwaaba offers guests spa services, bridal packages and a pool.
